Demolition, refurbishment and extension of the existing Garden Village Nursing Home in Port Macquarie. The works were carried out in four major stages. Timely completion of each stage was key to the project’s success. Programming allowed for the coordinated relocation of residents, facilitating constant operation of the nursing home at all times.
The works included 42 beds, ensuites, two new dining areas, a kitchen and servery, procedure and utility areas, nursing stations, general facilities including games and lounge areas, a hairdressing salon, a new entry with reception area and administration and executive management offices.
Fire services were upgraded and extended and air conditioning, security, duress and nurse call systems were implemented. The project also involved extensive landscaping and civil works.
