A W Edwards Pty Limited (A W Edwards) recognises the importance of privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information from unauthorised use and disclosure (Privacy Policy).

Personal information is information or opinion that identifies an individual (e.g. name, email address etc) and may include sensitive information.

This Privacy Policy governs how we collect, use, disclose, secure and dispose of any personal information. In doing so, we adhere to applicable laws including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act), accessible at www.aoic.gov.au.

Whenever we collect or process your personal information, we’ll only keep it for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. At the end of that retention period or on your earlier request, your data will either be deleted completely or anonymised, for example by aggregation with other data so that it can be used in a non-identifiable way for statistical analysis and business planning.

In responding to requests for personal information from third parties, we will consider the entity requesting the information, whether that information is being provided to meet a lawful request or whether the information is necessary to comply with the request.

While we cannot guarantee the security of personal information, A W Edwards will use appropriate controls to ensure that all personal information collected is kept secure from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure and implement other measures that ensure the ongoing confidentiality, integrity and availability of our processes and services.

You must take care to protect your personal information physically or electronically (for example, by protecting any usernames and passwords) and avoiding communication of personal information on electronic platforms such as social media which is not private. You should notify us as soon as possible if you become aware of any security breaches that may compromise the safety of your personal information.

Disclosure of information overseas

We may transfer personal information to countries other than Australia, such as our information technology and business process service providers. These countries may not have the same data protection laws as Australia and may not provide the same level of protection, but we endeavour to ensure such providers that we liaise with on a limited basis have a similar or more stringent privacy policy.

Where your personal information is shared between affiliates of A W Edwards, those affiliates are subject to similar privacy policies in respect of data protection as AW Edwards.

You acknowledge that, by agreeing to the disclosure of your personal information to entities outside Australia, we will no longer be required to take reasonable steps to ensure those entities’ compliance with the APPs or the Privacy Act and we will not be liable for any breach of these by those entities. On this basis, you consent to such disclosure.

Individuals in the EU only

While our intended market is not individuals who reside in the European Union, any personal information provided by such individuals to us by consent will be protected in compliance with this Privacy Policy and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which will include, for those persons, the rights to access and rectification of personal data and additionally:

  • the erasure of personal data under certain conditions;
  • object at any time the processing of your personal data or restriction of processing of this personal data under certain conditions; and
  • data portability – i.e. the right to convert personal data held by us into a simple machine-readable format that can be transmitted to your or another business under certain conditions.

We will also notify you and the relevant public authority of any high-risk data breaches within 72 hours of becoming aware or any shorter timeframe as may be required by law. In contacting us below, please identify that you are an individual in the EU.
