TheStadiumBusiness Awards recognise leadership, innovation and achievement in the delivery, operation and management of sports facilities globally.
The MA Noble, Don Bradman & Dally Messenger Stands project was awarded ‘Project of the Year’ beating projects from Poland, the UK and the USA. The judges noted – ‘the project represents an excellent example of the expansion and development of a facility whilst preserving the character and appearance of an historic building’.
In addition the Major League Baseball event held at the SCG last year was recognised as the ‘Sports Event of the Year’. The judging panel were ‘impressed by the scale and intensity of this logistically complex event’ and felt it was an ‘inspiring event that captured the attention of fans all over the world’.
The MLB at the SCG beat events nominated from Brazil, USA, Germany and the UAE.
