Patients, visitors and staff now have better access to St George Hospital from Kogarah town centre with the opening on July 30 of the new hospital entry and pulic and staff car park on Kensington Street.
The new car park, part of the $307 million St George Hospital redevelopment, includes paid casual parking and staff parking.
St George Hospital General Manager Leisa Rathborne, said the new entrance and street-level car park will provide better access to departments such as imaging services, ambulatory care and breast screening.
“The new 55 space on-street car park and drop-off zone will make it easier for patients and visitors visiting these departments to be dropped off or picked up and provide additional access to the hospital from the Kogarah town centre,” Ms Rathborne said.
Construction of the car park started in November 2014 after the old emergency department was demolished.
