A W Edwards Joins Australia’s Biggest Public Transport Project

October, 2020

A W Edwards Honorary Chairman Bruce Edwards and Chief Executive Officer Greg D’Arcy signed a $370 million (AUD) contract with the NSW Government on Friday 20th October 2020 to deliver Sydney’s new Metro station at Crows Nest.

The Crows Nest Station will provide new metro rail access to the Crows Nest residential area and serves people within walking and cycling distance. It improves travel to local schools, businesses and Crows Nest village. The station creates a new transport focus on the southern side of the St Leonards specialised centre which supports the St Leonards southern gateway to commercial and mixed-use activities. Construction will begin in January 2021 with completion due in 2023.

Chief Executive Officer, Greg D’Arcy, thanked the bid team on Friday and said this significant contract was a well-deserved win for the organisation.

“We constructed Epping, Macquarie University, Macquarie Park and North Ryde stations as part of the Epping to Chatswood railway project between 2004 and 2008. We have a long tradition of delivering innovative construction solutions and look forward to working with the Sydney Metro team on this exciting project”, he said.

“It’s pleasing to see our efforts to secure some of the NSW Government’s health and transport infrastructure investment paying off.”
