Officials and guests gathered on December 18 for the ‘sod turning’ ceremony for the Port Macquarie Base Hospital Mental Health Unit expansion.
Construction of the $17.5 million project will commence in January 2018. Local Health District Chief Executive Steward Dowrick, said the expanded unit will be a ‘world-class facility that will future-proof the region for services over the next 10 to 20 years’.
