Project description

Design finalisation and construction of a three storey state-of-the-art science building together with associated parking, external paving and landscaping works.

The new facility achieved a six star Green-Star rating, accommodating for the University’s School of Science and Health, the Advanced Materials Characterisation Facility (AMCF) and the School of Social Sciences and Psychology.

With capacity for over 400 students and staff, the building has a total floor area of approximately 4,600 square metres and includes undergraduate science teaching laboratories, four PC2 laboratories, an advanced simulation lab for collaborative science learning, high-tech spaces for materials testing and equipment, social science teaching spaces, psychology research labs and an art therapy studio.

The New Science Facility is the University’s first six star Green-Star design & construct project whilst also meeting the heritage requirements of a sensitive site.
